THE DENTAL BRIDGES TREATMENT PROCESS

Image

CONSULTATION AND ASSESSMENT

The first step in getting a dental bridge is a thorough consultation with our experienced dentist, Dr. Thomas Pardue. During this appointment, Dr. Pardue will assess your oral health, discuss your goals and concerns, and determine if a dental bridge is the right treatment for you.

If it is determined that a dental bridge is the best option, Dr. Pardue will proceed with a detailed treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This plan will include the number of pontics (artificial teeth) needed and the type of dental bridge that will be used.

TOOTH PREPARATION

In most cases, dental bridges require the preparation of the adjacent teeth that will support the bridge. This involves removing a small amount of enamel from these teeth to make room for the dental crowns that will hold the pontics in place. Don't worry; this process is done under local anesthesia to ensure your comfort.

Once the teeth are prepared, impressions of your teeth will be taken. These impressions are sent to a dental lab, where your custom dental bridge will be fabricated to fit your unique bite and aesthetic preferences perfectly.

BRIDGE PLACEMENT

Once your custom bridge is ready, you'll return to our dental office for the final bridge placement. Dr. Pardue will ensure that the bridge fits accurately and comfortably. The crowns on the adjacent teeth will be cemented in place, securing the pontics in the gap.

With your new dental bridge in place, you'll immediately notice a difference in your smile's appearance and functionality. Eating, speaking, and smiling will become more natural and enjoyable, just as it should be.

THE BENEFITS OF DENTAL BRIDGES

IMPROVED AESTHETICS

One of the most apparent benefits of dental bridges is their ability to restore your smile's appearance. The pontics are crafted to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, ensuring a seamless and attractive smile.

RESTORED FUNCTIONALITY

Missing teeth can make everyday activities like chewing and speaking difficult. Dental bridges restore your ability to bite and chew comfortably, and they also help maintain proper speech.

PREVENTS TEETH SHIFTING

When you have a gap from a missing tooth, nearby teeth can start to shift into the empty space, causing misalignment. Dental bridges prevent this from happening by filling the gap.
